If you’re new to Pure Healing with Homeopathy, you may be wondering what actually happens when you book your first appointment.
Perhaps you’ve been dealing with the same health concern for years. Maybe you’ve noticed changes in your health that you can’t quite explain. Or maybe you feel your body needs a different kind of support.
Whatever brings you through the door, your first appointment is about getting to know you.
Alongside Homeopathy, I offer Spinal Flow, Thermography, BioEnergetic Testing and Touch For Health. My wild yam cream is also available to purchase online and in person at appointments. This article focuses on your first homeopathy consultation; appointments for other services may look different.
Your first homeopathy appointment
Your initial homeopathic consultation is typically about 1½ hours. This gives us time to slow down and explore your health history, rather than rush through a checklist.
We’ll talk about your main health concerns, including:
- When your symptoms began and what makes them better or worse
- Significant illnesses, injuries, surgeries and major life events
- Sleep, energy, stress and moods
- Food cravings, aversions, digestion and other physical patterns
- Medical and family health history
- Current medications, supplements and other treatments
What to bring to your first appointment
You don’t need to prepare a perfect health history or know exactly what is wrong. Come as you are.
It can be helpful to bring a list of your current medications and supplements, and think about when your concerns began, significant events in your life, and any patterns you’ve noticed over the years.
And most importantly, be honest and open. There is no judgment in my consultation room. Sometimes details that seem unrelated or insignificant help connect the dots.
Homeopathy looks at the whole person
One thing I love about homeopathy is that we don’t look at a symptom in isolation. Your physical health, emotional experiences, lifestyle, environment, nutrition, stress levels and life history all form part of the conversation.
When I take your case, I’m interested in more than ‘What is happening right now?’ I want to understand when it began, what was happening in your life at the time, and what has changed since then.
Someone might say, ‘I’ve never really been well since I lost my job.’ We may explore what that experience meant for them and what changed afterward. Another person may describe symptoms that began after an injury or illness.
This doesn’t mean every health concern has an emotional cause, or that a timeline alone tells us what caused a symptom. Your full history helps me understand your experience rather than making assumptions from one detail.
How I approach individualized homeopathic care
Homeopathic remedies are selected according to the individual’s overall pattern. Two people can have the same diagnosis or symptom, yet have very different histories and experiences. Their homeopathic recommendations may therefore look different.
In homeopathic philosophy, this approach is often described in terms of resonance, vital force and the body’s innate intelligence. These are concepts within homeopathy, rather than established medical mechanisms. They help explain how I think about individualized care.
During our conversation, we may also discuss nutrition, lifestyle, herbs or appropriate bodywork. Any recommendations depend on your individual situation.
Homeopathy is a complementary practice and does not replace medical assessment, diagnosis or prescribed treatment. Please discuss medication changes and concerns about nutritional deficiencies with your qualified healthcare provider.
What happens at follow up appointments
We generally reconnect every 3-6 weeks, depending on the individual and what is happening with their health.
At each follow-up, we talk about what has changed, what remains the same and any new concerns. We may revisit sleep, energy, mood, digestion and other patterns discussed at your first visit.
In my practice, follow-up is an ongoing conversation with your health, rather than a one-size-fits-all plan.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to know what is causing my symptoms?
No. You don’t need all the answers before you come in. We’ll explore your health history together. New, persistent or concerning symptoms should also be assessed by a qualified healthcare provider.
Why do you ask about emotional experiences?
I want to understand what was happening in your life when your concerns began. Emotional experiences are one part of that history, alongside illnesses, injuries, lifestyle and other circumstances. I won’t assume a physical concern has an emotional cause.
Will you only recommend homeopathic remedies?
Not necessarily. Depending on your situation, we may also discuss nutrition, lifestyle considerations, herbs or appropriate bodywork. Recommendations are individualized.
What if I am unsure which service to book?
You’re welcome to contact me before choosing an appointment. We can discuss which service you’re interested in and what the appointment involves.
Your first visit is the beginning of the conversation
When you come to my clinic, I want to understand your story. Whether you’ve been struggling with something for years or you’re simply feeling that your body isn’t functioning the way it used to, your first appointment gives us time and space to start putting the pieces together.
You don’t need all the answers before you come in. That’s what our first conversation is for.
